Walter Gray is a former Providence Journal reporter and columnist who retired from the University of Rhode Island as Assistant Provost for Marine Programs. He is a former South Kingstown Town Council President and a former State Senator representing South Kingstown and Block Island.

He has extensive experience as a speech writer, interviewer, proposal author and program coordinator.
